Steel-Line 1980s Post-Modern Sculptural Steel Lounge Chair

A rare and sculptural lounge chair attributed to Steel-Line, made in Italy in the 1980s. The conical shell is made of etched, textured steel. Its reflective surface shifts with the light around it, so the chair looks different in every room. The wide, flared backrest runs straight into the armrests and gives the piece its bold, architectural outline. A black upholstered seat sets off the metal body, and the whole piece rests on a slim tubular steel base with small brass feet. It's a standout example of Italian Postmodern design, where raw industrial materials meet an expressive, almost sculptural form.
